Waste / GFT – References
Here is an overview of some of our references of industrial odor control in the waste/GMO category.
Odor control composting facility
Air from the composting process is extracted and emitted to the outside air through a number of biobeds.
Since the odor emission was too great for the biobeds, many odor complaints came from the pasture area (see article HERE). Following the biobeds, an Ecodor deodorization system was installed as a deodorization technique, which was switched on (continuously) to minimize complaints.
Two high-pressure misting systems with 120 atomizers were chosen, which was installed in one day. Almost daily the company was in the news in connection with odor complaints; after installation of the Ecodor deodorization system, complaints were a thing of the past.
Preventing odor nuisance near tunnel composting facility
At an egg processing plant, egg shells are composted in two pieces of composting tunnels. Each composting tunnel has an air flow rate of 10,000 m3/hour.
The waste gas is passed through a scrubber by means of exhaust fans, which washes out most of the ammonia. Next, the off-gas is directed to a biobed which treats the odor of the off-gas. 3 pieces of atomizers which atomize a product mixture water EC250 are mounted in a room in front of the biofilter.
8 pieces of atomizers were mounted just above the biofilter in the biobasket area. This neutralizes any residual odors still released from the scrubber and/or biofilter.
Odor and dust control near landfill bunker
At a composter, eggshells are deposited in a bunker after which processing into compost follows.
During this dump, dust and odor nuisance prevailed.
To combat this nuisance, two pieces of fog fans were mounted to the columns, which sprayed a solution Ecodor EC250 with water directed at the landfill front. The system can be switched on/off remotely, from the control room.
Dust and odor problems are minimized as a result.
Deodorization near commercial waste storage
At a commercial waste processor, nuisance odors regularly occur from the storage shed to the nearby area and to employees.
To combat these odors, 1 low-budget misting system was installed with 2x 4 pieces of compressed air atomizers hung above the two overhead doors to neutralize the escaping odors.
Near the shredder conveyor belt, 5 atomizers were placed to also neutralize the odors released in the process.
Stench removal at slaughter waste processor
At an abattoir waste processor, various (production) processes regularly emit nuisance odors for the nearby environment and employees.
To combat these odors, 3 pieces of low-budget compressed air deodorization systems and 1 piece of fog fans installation were installed:
Odor control waste – Household waste
Garbage trucks dump the garbage into collection bunkers at a garbage processing plant.
The household waste is transported to the incinerators by cranes. This involves a lot of dust and odor.
To neutralize the resulting odor, five mist fans were installed in the hall, which mist Ecodor EC250, after which the odor is neutralized.
Ecodor takes care of total maintenance; it also takes care of barrel changes.
Prevention of odor nuisance composting facility
Air from a storage shed containing compost is extracted and emitted to the outside air through scrubbers and biobeds.
An Ecodor deodorization system was installed after the biobeds as a downstream deodorization technique, which is switched on/off when deemed necessary due to excessive odor emissions from the biofilters in combination with an unfavorable wind direction.
One high-pressure atomization system with 64 atomizers was chosen.
Odor control near waste – Horticultural film
At a storage depot for plastics and foils from gardening and agriculture, organic substances (residues) stick to these plastics and foils, which are broken down by microorganisms.
As a result of scalding, decomposition products with a typical odor are formed, which diffuse to the air phase. The emission of these odor components results in an odor nuisance situation/odor nuisance in the vicinity of the storage depot.
An Ecodor deodorization system was installed to control the odor nuisance.
Deodorization installation in GFT storage shed
An Ecodor deodorization system was installed in the GFT waste storage shed to reduce odors present in this shed.
Three mist fans (one with oscillator) handle the GFT storage.
22 atomizers treat the remaining air in the storage shed.
Odor control system near waste – plastic processing
In a shed where plastic is cleaned and then shredded, there is an odor problem.
These odors are reduced to acceptable levels through three pieces of fog fans, which atomize diluted EC250.
