Slaughterhouses – References

Here is an overview of some of our references of industrial odour control in the slaughterhouses category.

Odour treatment at slaughterhouse – Pigs

Waste released during pig slaughtering is heated in ovens. In the fat melting plant in which these furnaces are located, the air is treated in several places before being post-treated in the biofilter.
The odour from the storage of offal is also treated.

Odour removal at slaughterhouse – Cattle

To reduce odour nuisance from the grease smelter, a plant was purchased.
Five atomisers were placed inside to reduce the odour already as much as possible before the biofilter. Four atomisers were placed above the biofilter where they neutralise the remaining odour.

Deodorising at slaughterhouse – Cattle

In the refrigerated area where bovine offal is stored, there is a lot of odour nuisance for employees.
The room was equipped with a compressed air-assisted misting system which sprayed enzymes every 10 minutes, for 5 minutes, to neutralise the odours.

Odour control at a chicken slaughterhouse

Air extracted from all departments of the slaughterhouse is emitted to the outside air. As this slaughterhouse is located in a residential area, there were many complaints from local residents.
The waste gases (total approx. 70,000 m3/h) are led to a 20-metre-high chimney via a single collector.
Three ring pipes (7+7+6) inject deodorising product Ecodor EC250 into this manifold, thus neutralising the escaping air.
