Instructions for Use

General Instructions for Use (for a specific application, see further on this sheet):

Ensure that UF2000 always comes into sufficient contact with the remaining urine residues by letting it soak in well and applying enough UF2000. Spray directly on the urine spot and let UF2000 work for a while. Do not scrub or rub. The urine stain to be treated must come into full and long enough contact with UF2000 to effectively neutralize the urine odor. Then let the treated area dry naturally.

Removing urine odor from stone or concrete Untreated stone or concrete looks like a hard material, but it is actually like a hard sponge that easily absorbs urine through its many small openings. This means that urine can easily penetrate deep into the stone or concrete, making the odor removal process more difficult. For best results, follow the steps below.

Do not use other (chemical) cleaners or masking agents! Ensure that the floor is thoroughly dry. If there are still adhesive residues from carpeting on the floor, remove them first. First, sweep the substrate clean and dust-free. Spray UF2000 generously (saturate) on the place of the urine using the trigger spray bottle or a low-pressure sprayer (plant sprayer or pesticide sprayer). Ensure that at least as much UF2000 is applied as there is reasonably urine present.

Cover the area with plastic for 1 to 2 hours to prevent too rapid evaporation, and to ensure that UF2000 can penetrate well into the concrete or stone. Note that with a first treatment with UF2000 of an old urine stain, the urine odor may initially become more intense. This indicates that the urine is gradually dissolving and coming to the surface.

**Remove the plastic and dry the area. Reapply UF2000. Allow the area to dry well for 1 to 2 hours (depending on the temperature, this may take shorter or longer). Apply UF2000 every 1 to 2 hours (drying time) until the urine odor is completely removed. After removing the urine odor and stain, remove the residue using a little water and blot it with a paper towel or a dry cloth.

Removing urine odor from wooden floors Urine stains on wooden planks or hardwood floors are among the most difficult stains to remove, especially when the wood has darkened due to repeated urination. The dark spots indicate an accumulation of dried urine salts (urine crystals), as well as wood damage, as the acidic urine has penetrated the wood.

By carrying out several treatments, UF2000 can completely remove the urine odor and can also largely remove the accumulation of dried salt crystals. However, the damage to the wood, unfortunately, cannot be remedied by our product. This can usually be made acceptable by light sanding and a follow-up treatment (with wax or varnish). Before sanding and finishing with wax or varnish, first, remove the urine spot with UF2000. By initially treating the urine spot(s) several times, it will be easier to retouch the affected area(s) later. The following instructions are for a floor with multiple urine spots. Start by spraying the urine source(s) with UF2000. Then apply UF2000 to the entire floor. Cover the wet floor with a piece of plastic to prevent UF2000 from evaporating too quickly. Once UF2000 is applied, the urine odor usually becomes slightly more noticeable after a while, as the odor comes to the surface. Remove the plastic after about 30 minutes and dry the floor with paper towels. Repeat the treatment after 30 minutes until all urine odor is removed. Each treatment will improve the condition of the surface, as evidenced by the dark spots becoming lighter in color and smaller in diameter until all the urine is completely removed. Treat the urine spots (sources) separately until all stains have almost disappeared or have become lighter, which means that the urine has been removed. Then let the wooden planks dry. After the last treatment, wipe the floor with some water and then dry the floor.

**By using UF2000, the urine odor will disappear, the dark spots will be reduced, and later it will be easier to make the floor look new again by sanding and/or a treatment with varnish or wax. However, often after using UF2000, the floor is so clean that a follow-up treatment can be omitted.

Removing urine odor from carpet or fabric furniture

IMPORTANT!! Always check the colorfastness of the material to be treated beforehand by testing the product on an inconspicuous spot first!

For newly formed urine spots: Do not use other (chemical) cleaners or masking agents. Do not shampoo either. If you plan to shampoo or clean your carpet, do so only after removing the urine odor and stains with UF2000.

First, absorb as much urine as possible by blotting it with paper towels. Do not press with your shoe, as your footprints may leave traces of urine on your carpet or rug. Use your hands to press the paper towel, wash them thoroughly with soap afterward, or preferably use protective plastic gloves. Use the spray bottle to thoroughly saturate the urine spot and the underlying layer with UF2000 (for the best results in completely removing urine odor and stains, it is essential that UF-2000 fully contacts the urine that has penetrated the material). Then let the spot dry normally.

Once the urine odor and/or stain is removed, remove the residue using a little water and blot the area with a paper towel. It is important to do this as the residue can attract dirt again.

For old, dried urine stains: Prolonged urine stains may have discolored your carpet. Even complete urine removal with UF2000 may not remedy this.

Do not use other (chemical) cleaners or masking agents. Do not shampoo either. If you plan to shampoo or clean your carpet, do so only after removing the urine odor and stains with UF2000.

Use the spray bottle to thoroughly saturate the urine spot and the underlying layer with UF2000 (for the best results in completely removing urine odor and stains, it is essential that UF-2000 fully contacts the urine that has penetrated the material). Then let the spot dry normally.

For very old and hard-to-remove urine stains: Apply an excessive amount of UF2000 (saturate) to the stain and cover it with plastic to allow UF2000 to work longer. Note that during the first treatment with UF2000 of an old urine stain, the urine odor may initially become more intense. This occurs more often with old, severe urine stains: This indicates that the urine is slowly dissolving and coming to the surface.

After a few hours, remove the plastic and blot the wet spot dry with a paper cloth. Repeat the above treatment if necessary for several consecutive days until the urine stain is no longer visible or the urine odor is completely removed (in some situations, 3 to 4 treatments may be necessary).

Once the urine odor and stain are removed, remove the residue using a little water and blot it with a paper towel or a dry cloth. It is important to do this as the residue can attract dirt again (and rings may form).

Can smell the urine but cannot trace the exact spot? Locate the invisible urine stains to the naked eye with the handy Ecodor ‘Urine Finder’ lamp. The salts present in dried urine will light up thanks to the lamp, making a ‘source’ treatment easier. Darken the room and scan the surface by letting the search lamp shine about 10 cm above the surface. White/green lit spots indicate urine (salts). Treat these spots with UF2000 according to the above instructions.
